PM Inaugurates 3 IIMs,Lays Foundation for Permanent Campuses of 3 IITs

Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant milestone in India’s educational landscape by inaugurating the campuses of three Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) in Jammu, Bodh Gaya, and Visakhapatnam. Additionally, he laid the foundation stones for various projects amounting to ₹13,375 crore, encompassing permanent campuses for three Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), 20 Kendriya Vidyalayas, and 13 Navodaya schools.

Speaking at the public event held at the Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu, the Prime Minister emphasized the unprecedented growth in the education and skill development sectors over the past decade, highlighting the government’s commitment to modern education for present and future generations.

Key initiatives dedicated to the nation include the establishment of permanent campuses for IIT-Bhilai, IIT-Tirupati, IIT-Jammu, IIITDM-Kancheepuram, the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) in Kanpur, and two campuses for the Central Sanskrit University. Additionally, the Prime Minister inaugurated 20 new Kendriya Vidyalaya buildings and 13 Navodaya Vidyalaya buildings nationwide, with plans for further expansions.

In Bihar, Modi inaugurated 24 new academic and residential buildings for IIT-Patna, enhancing its infrastructure at an estimated cost of ₹466 crore. The event witnessed virtual participation from Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister inaugurated the permanent campus of IIM-Bodh Gaya, which had previously operated from a makeshift setup. The newly developed campus spans over 60,000 square meters, representing a significant investment in the institute’s infrastructure.

Other highlights included the inauguration of IIT-Bhilai and two Kendriya Vidyalaya buildings in Chhattisgarh, alongside the unveiling of academic complexes at IIT-Delhi. The establishment of premier educational institutions like IIM-Jammu symbolizes a transformative approach towards providing quality education nationwide, particularly in regions like Jammu and Kashmir.

The event underscored the government’s commitment to bolstering the educational landscape across the country, ensuring access to quality education for all.
