New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who always advocates for the protection of the environment and the usage of renewable energy,  broke headlines by wearing a jacket made of recycled materials in Parliament.
In a similar move, the PM once again demonstrated his love for nature and the environment. In an interaction with Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, PM Modi talked about recycling waste. He said recycling and reusing are inherent to the nature of Indians, showing that the half-jacket he was wearing was made of recycled materials, including some plastic bottles.
The PM, also elaborating on the half-jacket, said that the material used to make this was old clothes, spare cloth pieces from a tailor’s shop, and plastic bottles.
He said India is moving ahead at a great speed in scaling up its renewable energy capacity in areas such as wind and solar energy, and he said the country wants to move rapidly in green hydrogen and nuclear energy.
PM Modi informed Gates about India’s rapid strides in renewable energy, citing a ₹1 lakh crore fund to encourage youth innovation. He emphasized a two-pronged approach focusing on eco-friendly innovations and mentioned the launch of India’s first green hydrogen fuel cell vessel. PM Modi promoted Mission Life for environmentally conscious living and highlighted investments in green energy sectors. He underscored the significance of data security and public awareness.
