New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday announced that the Centre has decided to establish fast-track courts to deal with paper leak cases, assuring swift trials and stringent punishment for those involved.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “We have decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks.”
The announcement marks Mr Modi’s first direct statement linked to the ongoing nationwide protests over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak.
Fast-track courts to ensure speedy justice
According to the Prime Minister, the proposed fast-track courts will be dedicated to expediting cases related to examination paper leaks and ensuring those responsible are brought to justice without undue delay.
Sources indicate that these courts are expected to function on the lines of the existing fast-track courts for cases involving Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of Legislative Assemblies (MLAs), enabling quicker disposal of cases.
Announcement comes amid nationwide protests
The decision comes as protests over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak continue across the country, with demonstrators demanding greater accountability and reforms in the examination system.
The issue has sparked widespread political debate, with opposition parties and student groups accusing the government of failing to safeguard the integrity of competitive examinations.
The Centre’s move to establish dedicated courts is seen as an effort to strengthen legal action against organised examination fraud and restore public confidence in the country’s recruitment and entrance examination processes.
