Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid an unexpected visit to the under-construction Varanasi stadium and sports complex on Tuesday to oversee its progress. This visit followed his participation in a Kisan Samman Sammelan, attending Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, and offering prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple earlier in the day.
Updating through X, PM Modi commented, “Visited the Dr. Sampurnanand Sports Stadium in Kashi to review its development. This facility will significantly benefit the youth of Kashi.”
Accompanying him was Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who joined the Prime Minister during his inspection of the upcoming sports infrastructure.
Photos shared by PM Modi depicted his discussions with officials over the sports complex model and his inspection of various amenities. The sports facility appears to be taking shape to international standards, complete with floodlights and expansive green fields.
This marked PM Modi’s inaugural visit to his constituency following his triumphant re-election from Varanasi in the recent Lok Sabha polls.
