New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday shared a video carrying a message against abusive language and hate, saying that “abuses never solve anything” and urging citizens to work together for the country’s progress.

The message comes amid controversy over the alleged derogatory remarks made against the Prime Minister by a woman during a student protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

PM calls for dialogue over abuse

Sharing the video on social media platform X, the Prime Minister wrote, “Abuses never solve anything. Let’s guide the misguided. Let’s work together. Let’s work for Bharat.”

His post followed the registration of a case against Ruchika Singh, a 25-year-old woman from Noida, who was accused of making abusive and objectionable remarks against the Prime Minister during a student protest in the national capital.

Without directly referring to the incident, Modi appealed for constructive dialogue and urged citizens to contribute positively towards nation-building.

Reiterates commitment to examination reforms

In the video, the Prime Minister also highlighted the government’s efforts to strengthen India’s examination system following Parliament’s passage of the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026.

He said paper leaks had troubled governments for decades and had jeopardised the future of millions of students across the country.

Emphasising the need for systemic reforms, Modi said the government was introducing faster mechanisms, incorporating suggestions from states and increasing the use of technology to ensure a transparent and trustworthy examination process.

Warns of strict action against paper leak mafias

The Prime Minister reiterated that those involved in paper leak rackets and examination fraud would face stringent legal action.

He described the newly passed legislation as an important milestone in restoring public confidence in the examination system and said the government would continue taking steps to prevent such incidents in the future.

Concluding his message, Modi urged citizens to work together to realise the vision of a developed India, saying collective efforts were essential for the country’s progress.
