The incident occurred in Kalyani Nagar, where a speeding Porsche, allegedly driven by an inebriated minor, collided with a motorcycle carrying the victims in the early hours. Dr. Ajay Taware, Dr. Shrihari Halnor, and Atul Ghatkamble, affiliated with Sassoon General Hospital, along with Amar Gaikwad, appeared before the district additional sessions judge VR Kachare, who ordered their 14-day judicial custody.

The accused doctors are charged with collaborating with the minor’s parents to tamper with blood samples intended for alcohol detection tests. Amar Gaikwad, identified as the intermediary between the doctors and the minor’s father, facilitated their dealings, as per police reports.

During the court proceedings, Investigating Officer Sunil Tambe highlighted the impending conclusion of police custody for Gaikwad and another individual, Ashpak Makandar, on June 10. However, an extension of Gaikwad’s custody under magisterial remand was requested, citing the ongoing generation of crucial information regarding his involvement in the case.
