New Delhi: A minor tension simmered within the NCP-BJP alliance as senior NCP leader Praful Patel reiterated his refusal to accept a Minister of State (MoS) rank with independent charge, citing concerns of demotion.

Addressing the ongoing confusion surrounding the alliance, Patel clarified that there was no ambiguity between the BJP and the NCP. “We have communicated our stance to the BJP leadership, expressing our reservations about the proposed MoS position. Given my prior experience as a Union minister, accepting such a role would constitute a step backward,” Patel clarified.

Assurances from the BJP leadership to address the issue were also highlighted by Patel, indicating ongoing discussions to resolve the impasse. “The BJP leadership has assured us that they are actively working to find a solution. We have been advised to wait for a few days and promised remedial measures,” Patel said.

Earlier today, a crucial meeting convened at the residence of lone NCP MP Sunil Tatkare in Delhi witnessed the convergence of key stakeholders, including Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Tatkare.
