A shocking murder in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad has left a family and local residents stunned after a pregnant teenager was allegedly killed and beheaded. Police have arrested two people, identified as her husband and father-in-law, in connection with the case.
The teenager’s death has raised serious concerns over violence against women and the vulnerability of young women within domestic settings.
Victim’s head found in plastic sack
Police launched a search after the teenager was reported missing. During the operation, investigators recovered her severed head from inside a plastic sack placed beneath a tree near a field.
The spot was reportedly around 100 metres from the area where the search was being conducted.
The recovery added a disturbing dimension to the investigation, as police began piecing together the circumstances that led to the teenager’s death.
Husband and father-in-law arrested
Police have arrested the victim’s husband and father-in-law in connection with the alleged murder. Investigators are questioning the accused and examining evidence to establish the sequence of events and determine the motive.
The fact that the victim was reportedly pregnant has further intensified concerns surrounding the case.
Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances of her marriage, her relationship with the accused and any events or disputes that may have preceded the alleged killing.
