A 28-year-old woman in Pune has alleged that her partner deceived her with a fake promise of marriage and secretly terminated her pregnancy.
According to her police complaint, Adarsh Valmik Meshram lured her into a relationship, assuring her they would marry. The woman stated Meshram repeatedly engaged in physical relations. When she became pregnant, he allegedly mixed an abortion pill into a sweet dish (rabadi) without her knowledge.
After unknowingly consuming it, she suffered a miscarriage. Upon learning the truth, she confronted Meshram, who then refused to marry her, leaving her devastated.
Police arrested Meshram and presented him before the court. “The accused has been remanded to police custody,” a senior inspector confirmed. An investigation is ongoing to uncover further evidence.
