In a shocking incident, a 25-year-old man was allegedly tied to a tree and beaten to death in Punjab’s Mansa district over a suspected personal dispute.
The victim was identified as Jashandeep Singh, a resident of Khokhar Road.
According to family members, a group arrived in a vehicle and allegedly attacked him in public before brutally assaulting him.
Family alleges honour-linked violence
Relatives claimed the attackers were family members of a married woman who was allegedly in contact with Jashandeep.
They said tensions had existed for some time and that he had reportedly faced threats and harassment earlier over the same issue.
His mother alleged that the woman frequently called him despite repeated objections from both families.
Tied to tree, beaten severely
The victim’s family claimed Jashandeep was tied to a tree during the assault and beaten mercilessly.
They alleged he suffered multiple severe injuries, including fractures to his arms and legs.
Locals reportedly witnessed the attack, leading to widespread anger in the area.
Died during treatment
After the assault, Jashandeep was rushed to hospital, where he later died during treatment.
His family has demanded immediate arrests and strict punishment for those responsible.
His brother said the attackers left him helpless and justice must be delivered.
Police launch investigation
Police have registered the case and begun an investigation.
Officials said the accused persons are currently absconding and efforts are underway to trace them.
