A tragic incident has struck a family in Punjab, with the suspected cause being food poisoning from a cake consumed during a birthday celebration. The victim, a 10-year-old named Manvi, tragically passed away after falling ill along with her family members. According to her grandfather, the cake, ordered online from a bakery in Patiala, led to the entire family feeling unwell shortly after consumption.

The distressing event unfolded on March 24, when Manvi was captured on social media joyfully celebrating her birthday, cutting the cake with her loved ones. However, by 10 PM that same night, the family experienced symptoms of illness, with Manvi and her sister reportedly vomiting. Manvi, in particular, complained of extreme thirst and dryness in her mouth before retiring to bed.

The gravity of the situation became apparent the next morning as Manvi’s condition worsened, prompting her family to rush her to the hospital. Despite medical intervention, including oxygen support and an electrocardiogram (ECG), Manvi tragically succumbed to her illness.

Suspicions arose regarding the cake from ‘Cake Kanha’, with the family alleging it contained a poisonous substance. Consequently, an FIR has been filed against the bakery owner, and investigations are underway. Postmortem procedures have been conducted, and a sample from the cake has been sent for testing, with the family awaiting the results for further clarity on the tragic incident.
