Puttur and Mangaluru swimmers clinch 1 gold and 2 silvers at National championship

Rajkot: Swimmers from Puttur Aquatic Club and Mangalore Aquatic Club clinched one gold and two silvers at the 62nd National School Games Federation Swimming Championship held at Rajkot on Saturday, November 26.

Neil Mascarenhas won his first National gold medal clocking 34.6 seconds in 50 meters breast stroke in the under-14 category. He is 13-years-old and a student of 8th standard from St. Philomina’s High School, Puttur

Manohar Prabhu from Puttur Aquatic club won a silver medal clocking 32.26 seconds in 50 meters breast stroke in the under-17 category. He is a student of 10th standard at St. Aloysius High School, Mangalore.

Javin M U from Mangalore Aquatic club won a silver medal in the 4×100 meters freestyle relay in the under-14 category. Javin is a student of 8th standard in Canara High school, Urwa, Mangalore.

Neil, Manohar and Javin train at the Balawana Swimming Pool, Puttur and at the Mangala swimming pool, Mangalore. They are coached by Partha Varanashi, Vasanth Kumar, Niroop G R, Yajnesh and Rohit.
