Lucknow: AICC former president Rahul Gandhi, who is contesting from his party’s stronghold Raebareli Lok Sabha constituency for the first time, has won by a margin of 3,90,030 votes against his nearest rival BJP candidate, Dinesh Pratap Singh, according to an ECI report.
Since the beginning of the counting of votes, Rahul Gandhi has continuously maintained his lead. In 2019, Sonia Gandhi won by a margin of 1,61,178 votes against Dinesh Pratap Singh.
Rahul, in the previous election, was defeated by the BJP’s Smriti Irani in Amethi. He presented Amethi from 2004 to 2019. But in 2019, he also contested from Kerala’s Wayanad and won.
Dinesh Pratap Singh is also a minister in the Yogi Adityanath government.
