Raebareli: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that if his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had contested for the Lok Sabha seat in Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would have been defeated by a margin of two to three lakh votes.

Speaking at a thanksgiving event, he highlighted the unified efforts of the I.N.D.I.A. coalition parties in constituencies like Raebareli and Amethi, aiming to diminish the BJP-led NDA’s influence in Parliament.

Gandhi also highlighted that he and his fellow party members would remain humble and focused on serving the public, despite their electoral success.

He criticized Modi for neglecting ordinary citizens in favor of major industrialists and elites, particularly during the Ram temple consecration ceremony. According to Gandhi, the electorate responded by defeating the BJP in Ayodhya as a form of retribution.

Priyanka Gandhi, in her brief address, expressed gratitude to the people of Amethi and Raebareli for securing victories for the Congress in these areas.
