Rains wreak havoc in Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad:Incessant rains that have been devastating the state since the last four days killed seven people on Friday, taking the death toll to 20. The rains also destroyed crops on lakhs of hectares. Two people have been reported missing.
 
The fury of the torrential rain was felt in almost every district of the state. The rains breached tanks and submerged roads. Thousands of homes were marooned and many of them have collapsed. Many rivers have been overflowing and transportation has been badly hit.
 
The river Krishna is in spate and water had to be released from both Nagarjunasagar and Prakasam barrage.
 
According to the weather forecast, heavy to very heavy rain is likely at a few places and extremely heavy rain at isolated places in all the nine coastal districts and entire Telan-gana in the next 48 hours.
 
Next four days rain of 20.8 cm is heaviest ever to hit state
