Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray’s wife Sharmila was badly injured after one of their dogs, Bond, bit her face on Tuesday. She had to undergo a surgery on Tuesday and is now recovering in Mumbai’s Hinduja hospital.
Family sources said that Bond attacked Sharmila moments before Thackeray was scheduled to address a press conference at his residence. He rushed to the hospital after the conference.
Doctors in the hospital said the bite was so severe that the dog’s teeth dug almost reached her bones.
Sharmila underwent plastic surgery and had 65 stitches on her cheeks. The dog is a Great Dane breed. The family has two dogs – James and Bond.
