A young man was viciously attacked outside a toddy shop in Triprayar after he declined to share his fish fry with fellow patrons. The incident took a violent turn when three individuals—Sanath and Sanjay from Painoor, and Sharon from Chemmappilly, Thanniyam—allegedly confronted the victim outside the establishment.

According to police, the trio followed the youth after he exited the shop, grabbed him by the neck, and forcibly dragged him to a nearby highway overbridge. There, they reportedly assaulted him in full view of passing vehicles.

Authorities have since arrested all three suspects in connection with the case. Among them, Sanath is said to be a habitual offender with a troubling criminal background. He currently faces an attempted murder case at the Valappad police station and has other pending charges including assault, defamation against women, public nuisance, alcohol-related offenses, and narcotics violations at Anthikad police station.

The incident has sparked outrage in the local community, raising concerns about escalating violence in public spaces over trivial disputes.
