Several parts of Delhi will witness scheduled power cuts on Saturday as BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) carries out maintenance, transformer upgrades and network improvement works across its distribution areas.

According to the power distribution company, the temporary outages are necessary to facilitate transformer upgrades, low-tension (LT) circuit maintenance, network enhancement and repairs of faulty equipment.

Hauz Khas and South Extension

At Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Hauz Khas, electricity supply will remain suspended from 11.07 am to 1.07 pm due to damage to the RMU coupling bus bar.

Parts of South Extension-II will also face a brief outage from 2.08 pm to 2.23 pm because of a defect in the RMU operation mechanism.

Janakpuri

Multiple localities in Janakpuri will experience scheduled outages:

  • Block J-8, Rajouri Garden Extension: 12 pm to 2 pm (LT circuit maintenance)
  • Block C1: 11.07 am to 12.37 pm
  • Block C-2C: 11 am to 12.30 pm

The latter two outages are also due to LT maintenance work.

Palam and Mohan Garden

Residents in Raj Nagar Extension, Vijay Enclave and Mangalpuri-II in Palam will face power cuts from 11 am to 12.30 pm for transformer network upgradation and installation of a new LTAB circuit.

In Mohan Garden’s Block S at Razapur Khurd, electricity supply will remain interrupted from 11 am to 2 pm for transformer network upgradation.

Dwarka and Nangloi

Suraj Vihar in Dwarka will experience a scheduled outage from 10.07 am to 12.07 pm as part of network upgradation work.

In Nangloi, power supply will remain disrupted between 10 am and 1 pm in:

  • DDA Park
  • Nihal Vihar
  • Adhyapak Nagar
  • Block B, Jawalapuri
  • Paschim Vihar

The work in these areas also involves transformer network upgrades.

Sarita Vihar

Residents of Mithapur under the Sarita Vihar division may experience a power cut from 11 am to 1 pm owing to repairs related to a burnt transformer LT lead.

BRPL advisory

BRPL has advised residents in the affected localities to plan their activities accordingly, as electricity supply will remain temporarily suspended during the scheduled maintenance period.

The utility stated that the works are aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of the power distribution network.
