Indian

Kishan Bagaria’s remarkable journey serves as a testament to the potential of self-taught success in today’s digital age. Hailing from Dibrugarh, Assam, Kishan pursued his education through the internet, mastering coding from a young age. By the time he was 12, he was already developing Windows applications, driven by a deep curiosity and a passion for technology.

In 2020, Kishan embarked on creating texts.com, an innovative app designed to consolidate messages from various platforms like Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram, and Twitter into a unified dashboard. This app not only streamlined message management but also offered users the ability to view messages discreetly without notifying senders, bolstered by robust end-to-end encryption for security.

Initially gaining traction through word-of-mouth and positive feedback from peers, texts.com quickly gained popularity. Recognizing its potential, industry experts began approaching Kishan, leading to a pivotal meeting with Matt Mullenweg, founder of WordPress and Automattic, in 2023. Following extensive discussions, Automattic acquired texts.com in October of that year for $50 million (approximately ₹416 crore). Mullenweg lauded Kishan as a “Generational tech genius” for his innovative vision.

Today, Kishan leads the texts.com team under Automattic’s stewardship in the United States, spearheading efforts to expand and enhance the platform’s capabilities. His story underscores the transformative power of self-directed learning and entrepreneurial spirit in the realm of technology.
