A tragic incident unfolded at Candor Techspace in New Town, Kolkata, on Wednesday afternoon when Dwaipayan Bhattacharjee, a 50-year-old senior manager with a leading Indo-American IT consulting firm, fell to his death from the sixth-floor refuge area of his office building. Bhattacharjee, a resident of Mudiali, leaves behind his wife and two children.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Bhattacharjee was battling depression and was undergoing treatment. Police, however, are examining all possible angles to rule out any foul play. According to sources, he arrived at his workplace as usual and logged into his system but seemed visibly distressed and distracted throughout the day. Around 3 pm, shortly after lunch, security personnel heard a loud thud and discovered him lying in a pool of blood in the parking lot.

Senior colleagues immediately alerted authorities, and Bhattacharjee was rushed to a nearby private hospital where he was admitted to the ICU. Unfortunately, he succumbed to multiple injuries.

A 1994-batch physics graduate from Presidency University, Bhattacharjee was leading a team of software engineers at his firm. His family confirmed he had been under considerable mental strain lately. Bidhannagar City Police are reviewing CCTV footage to understand how he accessed the refuge area. They have registered a case of unnatural death at Techno City Police Station and are analyzing his electronic devices for further clues.
