Ghaziabad: A seven-year-old girl was injured after a pack of stray dogs attacked her inside a residential society in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The frightening incident was captured on CCTV.

The child was walking through Star Rameshwaram Society in Raj Nagar Extension when three to four dogs suddenly surrounded her and began attacking.

Woman rushes to rescue the child

CCTV footage reportedly shows the dogs running towards the girl before surrounding and lunging at her from different directions.

The child tried to escape, but the animals continued chasing and attacking her. She sustained bite injuries to several parts of her body, including her hands, legs and waist.

A woman who was nearby intervened after seeing the attack and managed to drive the dogs away, allowing the child to escape.

The girl was subsequently taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

Residents demand action over stray dogs

The attack has left residents concerned about the safety of children and other people using the society’s common areas.

Residents said the stray dog problem has persisted in the locality for some time and claimed that people had previously been bitten by dogs in the area.

They alleged that repeated complaints to the Municipal Corporation had not resulted in a permanent solution to the problem.

CCTV footage renews safety concerns

The incident has once again highlighted concerns surrounding stray dog attacks in residential neighbourhoods, where children can be particularly vulnerable.

Residents have called for immediate measures to address the presence of stray dogs and improve safety within the society.

They said preventive action is needed before another serious incident occurs, particularly in areas where children regularly play or walk.

The CCTV footage has intensified calls from residents for authorities to respond to the long-standing concerns and ensure that residential spaces remain safe for families.

The incident also serves as a reminder of the importance of adult supervision around children in areas where aggressive or unfamiliar dogs are present.
