Acting on a tip-off, Zirakpur police busted two sex rackets operating out of Hotel Ambani and Hotel AK Grand on Saturday, arresting the operators of both establishments.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Parmood Tiwari, a resident of Dera Bassi, and Saddam, a resident of Zirakpur. According to police, both were allegedly running prostitution rings, charging high fees from clients, and coercing women into sex work.
Zirakpur SHO Inspector Satinder Singh confirmed that credible intelligence led to the raid, during which several young women, reportedly forced into the trade, were rescued from the premises.
A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. The crackdown follows the circulation of a viral video on social media showing illicit activities inside one of the hotels, providing additional evidence against the accused.
Both hotel operators now face serious charges of human trafficking and promoting prostitution. The police have launched a deeper investigation to uncover the broader network behind the operation.
Authorities are working to reunite the rescued women with their families and ensure they receive necessary rehabilitation and support.
Police have urged citizens to report any suspicious or illegal activities in the region, assuring confidentiality and swift action.
