Shah Rukh Khan’s global influence has reached a new high as a major international commercial landmark has officially been named after him. Months after the Bollywood superstar entered the global billionaire list, Dubai-based Danube Group unveiled a 55-storey commercial tower titled ‘Shahrukhz’, inspired by the actor’s name. The launch, held at a grand event in Mumbai, showcased not only the scale of the project but also the emotional value it carries for SRK.
SRK launches first-ever real estate project named after him
At a glittering ceremony hosted at a luxury hotel in Mumbai, Shah Rukh Khan joined Danube Group’s founder and chairman, Rizwan Sajan, to announce the tower. This marks the first time in India that a skyscraper of such magnitude has been branded after a Bollywood actor.
The project goes beyond naming—a statue of Shah Rukh Khan will also stand at the tower’s entrance as a tribute to his global impact.
Sajan explained that launching the project in Mumbai was an intentional decision. SRK agreed, saying the celebration felt far more meaningful in his home country. The actor became emotional, recalling that his mother would have been immensely proud of this moment. He added that this was an achievement he would someday show his children—and a symbol of how far life had brought him.
Describing the project, SRK said, “It is state-of-the-art and affordable. For people who are starting off in Dubai, it will be a moment and an inspiration to make their lives.”
A massive commercial development on Sheikh Zayed Road
‘Shahrukhz’ is set to redefine commercial real estate standards in Dubai. Estimated at Rs 4,000 crore, the tower will rise along Sheikh Zayed Road, one of the UAE’s busiest and most premium business corridors. Architecturally, the building is designed with a “hanging tower” concept, giving it a distinct visual identity on the skyline.
The development will span over one million square feet, offering more than 40 luxury amenities. Commercial units in the tower will start at USD 460,000, positioning the project firmly in the upscale investment category. Its central location is expected to attract global businesses aiming for a prestigious Dubai address.
Danube Properties, the real estate arm of the USD 2 billion Danube Group, emphasised that this project is more than just an addition to its portfolio—it is a landmark. Rizwan Sajan stated that an official agreement between the group and Shah Rukh Khan ensures that SRK’s name will remain permanently associated with the tower, a rare honour even in Dubai’s competitive luxury real estate market.
Completion expected by 2029
The tower is scheduled for completion by the second quarter of 2029. Danube Group believes it will set new benchmarks in commercial architecture and design. When asked if more properties carrying SRK’s name are in the pipeline, the company did not reveal further details, maintaining an air of anticipation around potential future collaborations.
SRK’s upcoming film projects
On the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in the much-awaited film King, featuring Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and others. The first look of the film was unveiled on the actor’s birthday this year, generating significant buzz across social media and the film industry.
