New Delhi: A seven-year-old murder investigation in Delhi’s Burari has taken a fresh turn with the arrest of Kamal Kumar, who allegedly killed his sister Anita in 2017 over a ₹50-lakh insurance payout, according to Delhi Police.

According to police, Anita had raised Kamal’s children as her own after family circumstances left them in her care. Investigators allege that despite the close bond, Kamal later plotted her murder with the help of two relatives, motivated by money.
Police said Anita had taken an insurance policy worth ₹50 lakh, with Kamal allegedly listed as the beneficiary. Investigators believe this became the motive behind the alleged killing.
