In a disturbing event in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, a man was severely assaulted after being accused of stealing a mobile phone. A video of the incident, which went viral on social media, was shared by one of the assailants, Priyanshu Singh, through an Instagram story intended for close friends. The video also included a text in Hindi, which read, “We are returning in our style; people have forgotten us.”
The clip shows the victim, partially unclothed, lying on a sofa, while another individual is seen whipping him with a belt. Throughout the video, the victim struggles to adjust his clothing but is prevented by the assailants.
After the video went viral, public outrage followed, prompting local authorities to take action. Police have arrested one individual, Rohit Srivastava, and are currently searching for another, Priyanshu Singh. The police have assured that legal proceedings are in progress as they continue their investigation.
