In the recently declared Class XII results by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) on May 14, girls from rural regions emerged as true champions, outshining their urban counterparts. Their achievements highlighted that dedication and discipline can surpass the advantages of big cities and elite schools.
From Barnala’s Sarv Hitkari School, Harsirat Kaur made history by scoring a perfect 500/500 in the medical stream. With dreams of becoming a doctor, Harsirat credits her success to persistent self-discipline. Her father, a sports education officer, and homemaker mother beamed with pride as their daughter topped the state.
Close behind was Manvir Kaur from Kassoana village, daughter of a modest farmer. Scoring 498/500, Manvir’s journey was one of resilience and rural determination. A self-learner preparing for NEET at home, she’s leaning toward a career in nursing, proving that ambition blooms even in the most remote corners.
Tied with Manvir but ranked third due to age, Karamjit Kaur of Mansa brought pride to Tarachand Vidyalaya Mandir Sr Sec School, Bhikhi. Focused on civil services, she aims for the UPSC. Scoring 498/500 in the humanities stream, Arsh Kaur attributes her success to disciplined self-study and a strict schedule. Her educator parents have nurtured her academic path, and the school now celebrates its first-ever state topper.
These young achievers have not just topped exams — they’ve rewritten the narrative of what success can look like, regardless of geography.
