New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday mandated the National Testing Agency (NTA) to fully disclose details concerning the NEET-UG paper leak incident. A three-judge bench, led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, instructed the NTA to reveal when the leak occurred, how the papers were leaked, and the time gap between the leak and the actual NEET-UG examination on May 5.

In a session addressing allegations of irregularities and malpractices in the NEET-UG 2024 exam, the Supreme Court emphasized the need for a thorough investigation. Since the Central Bureau of Investigati

on (CBI) is handling the probe, the bench ordered the investigating officer to submit a status report detailing the investigation’s findings, particularly focusing on when the leak happened and how the question papers were disseminated.

The court further directed the NTA to disclose the measures taken to identify the beneficiaries of the paper leak. Additionally, the Supreme Court inquired whether it would be feasible for the Centre and the NTA to employ data analytics through the Cyber Forensics unit or another expert agency to pinpoint suspicious cases.
