A sudden inspection of student backpacks at a school in Ghoti, Nashik, left educators and parents stunned, after authorities discovered disturbing items like condoms, knives, brass knuckles, and suspected drugs in the possession of students from Classes 7 to 10. Footage of the search quickly went viral across social media platforms.

The surprise check was carried out by the school’s vice principal, who reported that different contraband items were discovered in various students’ bags over several days. These included sharp weapons, bicycle chains, card decks, and even sachets suspected to contain narcotics.

To prevent students from developing dangerous habits, school staff have now implemented routine daily checks. “We don’t find everything at once — we uncover different items in different bags every day. This is an ongoing effort to discourage criminal behaviour,” the vice principal explained.

Teachers are deeply alarmed by the findings, fearing that some students might even be using drugs within the school premises. The matter has been escalated to local authorities, and an in-depth probe is currently underway.

Many parents have come forward in support of the school’s initiative, stating that in this vulnerable phase of adolescence, children need strong guidance. “After home, it’s the school’s responsibility to mould young minds with the right values,” said one concerned parent.

As authorities investigate, educators are pushing for stricter rules, counselling, and awareness drives to protect students from further harm.
