According to Kernalganj Station House Officer Nirbhay Narayan Singh, Rehan Khan, 17, and his cousin Shehzad Khan, 20, were riding a motorcycle when they were struck by the vehicle near a school. Sita Devi, aged 60, was also injured and is hospitalized. Police presence has been heightened in the area to maintain order.

The SUV involved in the accident, registered under Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s educational institution, has been seized, and the driver, Lavkush Srivastava, has been detained.

Additional Superintendent of Police Radhey Shyam Rai stated that investigations are ongoing, with authorities questioning the driver to ascertain the sequence of events. Reports suggest that a preliminary inquiry revealed that the collision occurred when Karan Singh’s convoy, comprising four vehicles, encountered a railway crossing. While three vehicles crossed without incident, the fourth remained behind due to a passing train. Upon the train’s clearance, the driver of the fourth vehicle purportedly accelerated to rejoin the convoy, leading to the collision with a motorcycle near a petrol pump.
