Tamil Nadu: In a harrowing incident near Coonoor in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu, six individuals, including a journalist covering the rescue operation, suffered injuries in a leopard attack. The leopard, chasing a domestic dog, emerged from the forest and entered a house in Brookland, prompting residents to alert the Coonoor Forest Department and the fire rescue team.
Despite efforts to contain the situation, the leopard continued its attacks, resulting in injuries to six people, including the journalist on duty to report on the rescue operation. The injured individuals have been promptly admitted to Coonoor Hospital, as per ANI report.

The forest department swiftly responded to the incident, initiating a containment operation to capture the leopard still inside the house. The forest officials confirmed ongoing efforts to apprehend the leopard, emphasizing the safety of the affected residents.
This incident follows a recent surge in leopard sightings within the Coonoor area, causing concern among residents as these wild animals venture into residential zones in search of food and water. The forest department continues its endeavors to address the situation and ensure the safety of the community.
