A shocking incident has surfaced from Vasai in Maharashtra, where a minor household argument allegedly escalated into a brutal murder. A 15-year-old boy is accused of killing his 60-year-old aunt late Sunday night. The teenager, who was staying with her, has been detained along with his 15-year-old friend.
How the crime came to light
The crime was discovered after the victim’s daughter, who resides in Boisar, repeatedly tried calling her mother but received no response. Unaware that the accused had smashed both of the victim’s mobile phones, she grew suspicious and asked her brother to check on their mother.
Upon reaching the house, he found the main door locked from inside. Looking through a window, he noticed his mother’s blood-soaked feet lying on the floor. He immediately alerted the police.
Police struggle to enter the house
When officers arrived, they found the house tightly secured from within. The doors had reportedly been jammed using a screwdriver, making entry difficult. After nearly three hours, police broke in through a bathroom window slab.
Inside, they discovered a gruesome scene. The elderly woman’s head had allegedly been crushed with a bamboo stick, and blood was scattered across the room.
Motive and attempt to destroy evidence
During interrogation, police said the argument reportedly began over a slow-buffering smart television. The aunt had advised her nephew to focus on his studies, which allegedly angered him. In a fit of rage, he is said to have attacked her.
To evade suspicion, the teen allegedly called his friend. Together, they hid the body inside a sofa-cum-bed, smashed the victim’s phones and locked the house from inside to delay discovery.
Police grew suspicious due to the nephew’s nervous behaviour during questioning. Both minors are now in custody, and further investigation is underway.
