Amit Shah: Modi Can Serve as PM Beyond 75

Hyderabad: Home Minister Amit Shah has stated  that BJP’s constitution doesn’t bar Narendra Modi from being Prime Minister after turning 75. Responding to Arvind Kejriwal’s speculation of Modi’s retirement, Shah stressed that Modi will continue as PM and complete his term. “Kejriwal has no cause for celebration; Modi will remain PM and complete his term,” Shah stated firmly during a press conference in Telangana.

A day after releasing on interim bail, Kejriwal addressing a press conference in New Delhi, hinted at Modi’s retirement next year at 75, implying Amit Shah’s ascension. “Voting for Modi means Shah as PM,” Kejriwal stated. He criticized BJP’s leadership transition, citing Modi’s upcoming 75th birthday and BJP’s trend of retiring seniors.

He alleged the current BJP leadership unexpectedly ended political career of seniors like LK Advani, MM Joshi, Vasundhara Raje, Shivaraj Singh Chouhan and others. He also predicted that the BJP will change Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath within two years.

BJP’s Sudhanshu Trivedi dismissed Kejriwal’s claims, stating that  AAP lacks internal succession planning. Trivedi suggested that Kejriwal’s remarks unintentionally acknowledged Modi’s electoral victory and BJP’s continuity.
