New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) woman constable who allegedly slapped Bollywood star, newly elected MP from Mandi Lok Sabha constituency Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh Airport was suspended from the service.
Following the altercation, the constable, identified as Kulvinder Kaur, has been suspended from her duties and an FIR has been lodged against her, said sources.
In a video that is now circulating online, CISF Constable Kulwinder Kaur addressed the altercation involving Kangana Ranaut. Kaur stated that Ranaut’s previous remarks suggesting that women participating in the farmers’ movement were paid Rs 100 each deeply offended her. She disclosed that her mother was actively involved in the farmers’ protest during that time, and Ranaut’s statement was disparaging to their cause.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has called for stringent action against the CISF staff member involved in the incident. According to reports, the constable allegedly assaulted Kangana during a security check at the airport before her flight to Delhi.
Responding to the incident, Kangana Ranaut expressed her shock and condemned the assault on social media. She narrated how the CISF constable waited for her after the security check and then unexpectedly slapped her face while hurling abuses. Ranaut questioned how the growing extremism and terrorism in Punjab could be addressed, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.
