New Delhi: Taking a dig at central government for its failure to find missing JNU student Najeeb Ahmed, Students’ Union president Kanhaiya Kumar said, “they could find 3,000 used condoms from the campus but could not trace a missing student”.Kanhaiya, during the launch of his book ‘From Bihar to Tihar’ criticised BJP-led NDA government especially the BJP lawmaker Gyandev Ahuja, who had in February said that about 3,000 used condoms could be found on JNU campus every day. “They had such intelligence, they could count the number of condoms that were being used in JNU but they can’t use that intelligence to find out where is Najeeb after so many days,” Kanhaiya who was earlier jailed over sedition charges said.
It may be recalled that Ahmed, MSc Biotechnology first year student at Jawaharlal Nehru University, went missing on October 15 after he had a brawl allegedly with members of ABVP on the campus on the night of October 14. The Delhi police have announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh to whoever provides any information on the missing JNU student.
