Three separate cases of suicide were reported from different parts of Gurugram over the past two days, with police indicating financial and mental stress as key factors in the incidents. Investigations are currently underway in all three cases.

23-year-old man found dead in Palam Vihar

In the first case, a 23-year-old man died by suicide on Sunday night in the Om Vihar area of Palam Vihar. The deceased, identified as Bhura, was originally from Morena district in Madhya Pradesh and lived alone in a rented accommodation.

According to police, Bhura worked as a confectioner and was scheduled to get married in March 2026. Preliminary inquiry suggests he was under severe financial stress related to marriage expenses.

“He had been worried about arranging money for the wedding and had contacted relatives and acquaintances seeking financial help in the days leading up to his death,” a police officer said.

Police teams reached the spot after receiving information and called in forensic science laboratory and fingerprint experts to examine the scene. No suicide note was recovered. The body was sent for post-mortem examination and later handed over to the family after legal formalities. Statements of relatives have been recorded.

18-year-old woman found dead in Begampur Khatola

In another incident reported on Monday afternoon, an 18-year-old woman, Roli, was found dead at her rented residence in Begampur Khatola village under the Badshahpur police station limits.

Roli was originally from Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh. Police said no suspicious circumstances were found during the initial inquiry. Family members informed investigators that she had been under severe mental distress for some time.

After the post-mortem examination, her body was handed over to the family.

16-year-old boy dies in Sector 81

The third case involved a 16-year-old boy, Shankar, originally from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. He was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his home in Sector 81 under the Kherki Daula police station limits on Monday morning.

A forensic team inspected the scene, but police said no suicide note or evidence suggesting external involvement was found. The body was sent for autopsy and later handed over to the family.

Police urge timely support

Police officials said investigations are ongoing in all three cases and further action will be taken if any suspicious facts emerge. They also urged families and communities to seek timely counselling and professional support for individuals showing signs of emotional or psychological distress.
