Kasargod: A 40-year-old tipper truck driver died after losing control of his vehicle, which overturned onto a nearby house at Kanjirapoyil in Madikai on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Sadiq, a resident of Chayyom.
Truck overturns after unloading red soil
The accident occurred at Kulangad in Kanjirapoyil when Sadiq was moving the tipper truck after unloading a load of red soil.
According to the available information, the driver lost control of the vehicle while moving it forward. The truck subsequently overturned and fell onto a nearby house belonging to P Gopalan.
The impact caused significant damage to the residential building, with the kitchen portion of the house completely destroyed.
The incident caused concern in the locality as the heavy vehicle came crashing onto the house following the loss of control.
Driver succumbs to injuries
Sadiq sustained serious injuries in the accident. He was immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment following the incident.
However, his condition was critical and he succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts.
