Gorakhpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday urged citizens to participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and display the national flag at their homes with pride and respect.
Addressing a gathering in Gorakhpur before inaugurating a Tiranga Yatra, Adityanath said the national flag represents the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and the country’s journey towards independence.
Tiranga carries the spirit of freedom
Adityanath recalled how different flags and symbols were used during India’s freedom movement to inspire people and strengthen the struggle against British rule.
He referred to the Swadeshi movement of 1905 and the charkha that became an important symbol of the freedom movement in the following decades. After independence, the national flag was formally adopted with the Ashoka Chakra at its centre.
He said the evolution of the flag reflected the aspirations and sacrifices associated with India’s freedom struggle.
Har Ghar Tiranga celebrates patriotism
The Chief Minister said the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign provides an opportunity for citizens to honour freedom fighters and express their connection with the nation.
The Tiranga Yatra in Gorakhpur brought together people as part of the campaign, encouraging citizens to carry and display the national flag respectfully.
With Independence Day approaching, similar programmes are being organised across the country to promote national pride and remember the sacrifices that made India’s freedom possible.
The campaign also seeks to connect younger generations with the country’s history and the values represented by the national flag.
The Tiranga, Adityanath said, remains more than a national emblem — it represents India’s honour, pride and glory and the collective sacrifices behind the nation’s independence.
