Pune: In a deeply saddening occurrence, a 25-year-old software professional tragically ended her life by jumping from the 21st floor of a residential building in Pune’s Hinjawadi area. The incident, which took place on May 31, came to official light after an accidental death report was lodged on Wednesday night, as confirmed by authorities.
The deceased has been identified as Abhilasha Bhausaheb Kothimbhire. In the early hours of the morning, around 4:30 am, she arrived at the Crown Green Society on her two-wheeler. After reaching the building, she proceeded to her friend’s flat on the 21st floor. Soon after, she jumped from the balcony, resulting in her immediate demise.
Investigators from the Pimpri Chinchwad police station have recovered a suicide note from the scene. In the handwritten message, Abhilasha wrote, “I’m done living. I don’t want to live anymore,” expressing emotional despair. She also extended heartfelt apologies to her parents and close friends, expressing remorse for the drastic decision.
Officials believe that mental distress may have played a significant role in the incident. The police are currently investigating further to understand the circumstances leading up to the tragedy.
This heartbreaking episode has reignited discussions about mental health awareness and the pressures faced by young professionals, particularly in the IT sector.
