In a heartbreaking incident, a trans woman was discovered dead near a friend’s home in Ozhur early on Wednesday morning. The deceased, identified as Kameela, hailed from Vadakara and had been living in Payyanangadi, a locality in Tirur.

Around 4:30 am, her body was found hanging inside a makeshift structure used for vehicle parking, located beside the house where her friend was temporarily staying at his brother’s place. Local residents immediately alerted authorities.

Hours before her death, Kameela had uploaded a distressing video on Instagram. In it, she expressed her desire to end her life and held her friend accountable for pushing her to this extreme step. She also stated her intention to die close to his residence, indicating that her decision was premeditated.

Kameela’s death has sent shockwaves through the community and renewed conversations about mental health, social alienation, and the challenges faced by transgender individuals.
