A shocking video has surfaced on social media showing a group of women being chased and harassed by men in two cars, one of which had a flag resembling that of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party. The incident occurred near Muttukadu on Chennai’s East Coast Road around 2 am on January 25, just before Republic Day. The viral footage, capturing the women’s terror as they scream inside the car, has reignited debates on women’s safety in Tamil Nadu.

In connection with the incident, six people, including a college student, have been arrested. The Kanathur police have seized the two vehicles, one bearing the DMK flag, for further investigation.

The video reveals a man approaching the car, prompting panic among the women inside. The driver quickly sped off, thinking they had escaped to a safer spot, but the men followed them, flashing their headlights and honking. The victims later filed a complaint at Kanathur Police Station, which led to the creation of an FIR under various sections, including obstruction, obscene language, and intimidation.

The incident has led to a political storm, with BJP leader SG Suryah criticizing the incident, questioning the law and order under CM MK Stalin’s leadership. The case has intensified the scrutiny of political violence and women’s safety in the state.
