The Narsingi police have arrested two individuals, including a minor, in connection with the alleged abuse of a 16-year-old girl.
Complaint led to swift police action
According to officials, one of the accused, identified as Imran, is a repeat offender with multiple prior cases registered against him. A suspect sheet is maintained at the Rein Bazar Police Station.
Police said the case came to light after the victim’s mother lodged a complaint on February 17 at the Narsingi Police Station. She informed authorities that her daughter, who had been staying with her grandmother at Puppalaguda for studies, left for school on February 16 but did not return home.
A search operation was immediately launched.
Girl traced and rescued
Investigators traced the girl on Wednesday morning at the Chengicherla double bedroom apartments and safely rescued her.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that earlier this month, the girl had become acquainted with another minor while visiting the Charminar area. She later met him again without informing her family.
Police allege that during the meeting, the accused persons made her consume alcohol and subsequently subjected her to abuse.
A case has been registered under relevant legal provisions, and further investigation is under way. Authorities stated that appropriate support and counselling are being extended to the minor.
