Srinagar:In the two seperate attacks the terrorists have killed five policemen and a civilian. Two others have been injured.

In the first strike, terrorists in Army fatigues attacked a police station in Hiranagar at Kathua in Samba sector.

Minutes later, terrorists attacked an Army camp in Samba sector. Casualties, if any, are known when reports last came in. The Army retaliated and gun battle is still on.

Sources say that there is a design in these attacks as it comes on the eve of the talks that is scheduled to take place between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif.

Singh, who is in the US to attend the UN General Assembly (UNGA), will hold talks with his Pakistan counterpart.

In a statement issued in New Delhi before embarking on his visit to the US, Singh said he was “looking forward” to meeting Sharif in New York, ending days of speculation over whether they would meet in the American city where both will attend the UN General Assembly.

Singh PM is expected to convey concerns over “barbaric” incidents on the LoC and continued terrorism emanating from Pakistan.

At the meeting on September 29, the Indian side will see what the new Pakistan Prime Minister, who has made “some nice statements” about the relationship, has to offer to address its concerns over ceasefire violations on the Line of Control and International Border, continued terrorism and inaction against the perpetrators of the 2008 Mumbai attack.
