A two-year-old boy died after accidentally falling into a water-filled tub inside his home in the Titwala area of Maharashtra’s Thane district, police said.
Toddler found unresponsive in bathroom
The incident occurred on Sunday while the child, identified as Yuvansh Yadav, was playing at home and his parents were having dinner. According to police, the parents later found him lying unresponsive inside a water-filled tub in the bathroom.
The family immediately rushed the child to a private hospital in Titwala for medical assistance. He was subsequently taken to Central Railway Hospital in Kalyan, where doctors declared him dead.
Police have registered an accidental death report and are looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The incident has highlighted the need for close supervision of young children around water containers at home. Toddlers can face serious danger even in relatively small amounts of water, particularly when they are left unattended for a short period.
The incident has left the family grieving over the sudden loss of their young child.
