Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray was admitted to Sir HN Reliance Hospital on Monday for an extensive heart checkup. The checkup was pre-planned, as confirmed by his son, Aaditya Thackeray, in a social media post on X (formerly known as Twitter). Aaditya reassured the public that his father is in good health and ready to return to work soon.

Aaditya Thackeray’s post read, “This morning, Uddhav Thackeray ji did a pre-planned detailed check-up at the Sir HN Reliance Hospital. With your best wishes, all is well, and he is fully ready to get to work and serve the people.” According to reports from news agency ANI, Uddhav Thackeray is expected to be discharged later in the day, indicating that there is no cause for concern following the routine check-up.

The former chief minister, who led Maharashtra during a critical period that included the COVID-19 pandemic, has a history of heart-related procedures. In 2012, Uddhav Thackeray underwent an angioplasty, during which multiple stents were placed in his arteries. Angioplasty is a common procedure used to open blocked or narrowed coronary arteries to improve blood flow to the heart and reduce the risk of heart attacks. The fact that Uddhav Thackeray has undergone such procedures in the past makes regular checkups essential for monitoring his heart health.

Thackeray’s health has been closely watched since his angioplasty in 2012, and Monday’s checkup reflects a proactive approach to managing his well-being. Heart checkups for individuals with a history of cardiac issues are important for early detection of potential complications, and Uddhav’s adherence to these health protocols ensures that any risks are minimized.

As a prominent political figure, Uddhav Thackeray has continued to remain in the public eye even after stepping down as Chief Minister following political shifts in Maharashtra last year. His recent hospital visit drew attention, but the quick clarification from his family that the checkup was pre-scheduled has eased any concerns about his health.

With Aaditya Thackeray confirming that his father is ready to return to his duties, Uddhav Thackeray’s supporters and well-wishers can look forward to seeing him resume his political activities without interruption.
