The Uttar Pradesh government plans to deploy artificial intelligence technologies for managing crowds during the upcoming Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the state police to integrate these advanced tools into their strategy for the mega event.

Acknowledging the unprecedented scale of the event, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to establish new benchmarks in security, cleanliness, and convenience. He highlighted the Kumbh as a crucial intersection of India’s rich religious and cultural heritage with the world, underscoring the importance of ensuring safety, comfort, and hygiene.

To leverage the event’s potential in boosting the image of Uttar Pradesh and India globally, the Chief Minister urged officials to collaborate with professional agencies for efficient organization and widespread promotion. He stressed the use of AI-based technologies by the police and other stakeholders to manage crowds effectively and prevent disturbances, outlining the necessity for detailed action and contingency plans.

Ensuring environmental sustainability, Yogi Adityanath directed officials to implement the Kumbh under a green theme, with specific focus on maintaining the purity of the Ganga from Bijnor to Ballia. He also highlighted the significance of key infrastructure projects like the Akshay Vat-Saraswati Koop-Patalpuri Temple corridor, urging swift completion with potential assistance from the local Indian Army unit.

Moreover, preparations include provisions for over 1.5 lakh toilets on-site and engagement of more than 10,000 sanitation workers to ensure their functionality throughout the event. Additionally, the Chief Minister instructed police personnel to undergo specialized training to enhance their approachability and professionalism in dealing with pilgrims and visitors.

In anticipation of international dignitaries, he emphasized the need for adequate arrangements, underscoring the event’s potential to showcase Uttar Pradesh’s cultural wealth to a global audience.
