Aligarh: While the 2012 Delhi gang-rape is still in news, a 17-year-old girl was gang-rape and murdered in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh town on Wednesday.
It is said that the girl was on her way to school when four men waylaid her, pulled her off her bicycle, raped and tortured her before strangling her.
As news spread, angry villagers assaulted policemen who arrived on the spot. Senior police officials rushed to the spot and managed to control the situation.
Police said that a case has been registered against four unidentified youths and that two persons have been picked up for questioning.
But there are no arrests in the case as yet.
