A video featuring prominent UPSC coach Shubhra Ranjan has gone viral, igniting a significant controversy on social media. In the video, Ranjan is seen drawing a comparison between Lord Ram and Mughal Emperor Akbar during her UPSC classes, a move that has sparked considerable outrage online.

Social media users have voiced their discontent across various platforms. Ankit Jain, for instance, shared the video and challenged the validity of comparing Lord Ram with Akbar, whom he criticized as a “looter of India’s resources.” Jain also tagged the Delhi Police, calling for prompt action.

Another user, Mr. Sinha, labeled the comparison “ridiculous” and condemned Ranjan for juxtaposing Lord Shri Ram, known for his righteousness, with the Mughal invader Akbar. He urged for an end to such comparisons and called for an apology from Ranjan.

In response to the backlash, Shubhra Ranjan has issued a clarification and apology. On X, she stated, “If my video has hurt anyone’s feelings, I sincerely apologize. My intention was not to offend. The full lecture illustrates that my aim was to convey the ideal nature of Prabhu Shri Ram’s rule.”

She further explained, “Prabhu Shri Ram embodies the pinnacle of India’s spiritual heritage and cultural ethos. We hold profound reverence for Shri Ram and his teachings. Our institution respects all religions deeply.”

Ranjan added that the video represents only a fragment of a broader classroom discussion intended for comparative analysis. She expressed regret for any unintended misinterpretation and emphasized the institution’s commitment to constructive criticism and educational excellence.
