Lucknow: In a startling incident, a female government official allegedly struck a teenage girl following a dispute in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi district. The event unfolded within the confines of Bishampur village, where the official, identified as Deputy Tehsildar Prachi Kesarwani, had arrived to address concerns related to unlawful land occupation. An altercation transpired between the Deputy Tehsildar and the young girl, culminating in the officer reportedly slapping her. Footage of this occurrence has circulated on social media platforms.

According to reports, certain villagers had reportedly encroached upon a parcel of land situated in Bhishampur village, under the jurisdiction of Kapsethi police station in Varanasi. Following a High Court order mandating the eviction of the encroachers, Deputy Tehsildar Prachi Kesarwani arrived on-site to initiate actions against the unauthorized land occupancy. The local populace present at the scene expressed their discontent towards the intervention against their encroachments.

During the course of addressing the encroachment issue, a young girl from the crowd requested Deputy Tehsildar Prachi Kesarwani to provide proof of the High Court order. This request appeared to agitate the official, leading to a heated exchange between the two parties. In a reported fit of anger, Deputy Tehsildar Prachi Kesarwani purportedly slapped the girl in full view of the public.

The incident incited the crowd’s ire, resulting in them surrounding the woman officer after witnessing the alleged slap. Police officers stationed on-site intervened and removed the woman officer from the crowd, escorting her away from the scene.

As a consequence of the escalating tension and public outcry, further actions against the encroachment were temporarily suspended. Allegedly, the villagers have registered a complaint with higher authorities, voicing their dissatisfaction with the conduct of Deputy Tehsildar Prachi Kesarwani. Their demand for stringent action against the woman officer has been vocalized.
