A video allegedly showing a liquor party inside a Shiv Sena office in Chembur, Mumbai, has gone viral, igniting a political storm between the party factions. The footage shows several individuals consuming alcohol inside the office, with prominent images of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and local MLA Mangesh Kudalkar visible in the background. This has led to widespread outrage, particularly among opposition leaders and Shiv Sena (UBT) supporters.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sunil Prabhu strongly condemned the incident, emphasizing that party offices are sacred spaces for Shiv Sainiks. He accused the ruling faction of exposing their true nature by hosting such activities in a party office. In a post on X, the UBT faction shared the viral video, calling it “The limit of shamelessness” and accused the Shinde-led Shiv Sena of turning party offices into “liquor bars.” The post further criticized the rival faction, claiming that the “real Shiv Sena” maintains its party office as a “courthouse,” contrasting it with the “traitor group” which has turned theirs into a “liquor bar.”

According to reports, individuals involved in the gathering included branch head Deepak Chauhan and deputy division head Sanjay Kadam. While liquor bottles and glasses were visible in the video, the authenticity of the footage has yet to be independently verified.

Reacting to the controversy, Sunil Prabhu questioned the Shinde faction’s control over its members, suggesting that such incidents tarnish the legacy of Shiv Sena. Maharashtra’s Social Justice Minister, Sanjay Shirsat, also called the situation unfortunate, urging for appropriate action if the claims in the video were accurate.

As the political divide deepens with elections approaching, this viral incident has fueled tensions, with both factions exchanging sharp criticisms and intensifying their battle for public support.
