The party’s official handle shared images showing Banerjee bleeding from the forehead, indicating the severity of the injury.
Banerjee has been admitted to the hospital for medical attention following the incident. The pictures circulating on social media appear to be taken from the hospital premises.
“Our chairperson @MamataOfficial sustained a major injury. Please keep her in your prayers,” the TMC’s post read, urging supporters to extend their thoughts and prayers for Banerjee’s swift recovery.
